- There are widespread signs of economic problems in most communities across the nation. Many families are in serious financial trouble. Millions of households have lost or stand to lose their residences to foreclosures. Household savings is at its lowest level since the Great Depression of the 1930s. At the same time, the U.S. government continues to spend far more revenue than raised from taxation. The nation faces a $10 trillion and growing national debt. This illustrated talk explains the origins of our financial crisis and offers author and historian Ed Dodson’s insights into our growing dilemma. Presented by Edward J. Dodson, Henry George School faculty, former President of the Henry George School Board of Trustees, New York.
